The firm has been involved in many high-stakes, high-profile cases.

  • Upheld a $6.8 million verdict in a medical malpractice action. Coral Gables Hospital v. Veliz, 847 So. 2d 1027 (Fla. 3d DCA 2002).
  • On behalf of a cruise line, won an en banc state-court decision on forum non conveniens in admiralty cases. Tananta v. Cruise Ships Catering and Services, 909 So.2d 874 (Fla. 3d DCA 2004).
  • Upheld a $5.2 million verdict against a rental car company for failure to warn customers of the risk of criminal attack. Alamo Rent-a-Car v. Dieperink, 826 So.2d 368 (Fla. 3d DCA 2002).
  • Won a dismissal on constitutional grounds of a Rabbi’s lawsuit against his former synagogue. Goodman v. Temple Shir Ami, 712 So. 2d 775 (Fla. 3d DCA 1998), review dismissed after oral argument, 737 So. 2d 1077 (Fla. 1999), certiorari denied, 120 S. Ct. 789 (2000).
  • Won a ruling ensuring the confidentiality of a police report prepared for the FTAA summit. Timoney v. City of Miami Civilian Investigative Panel, 917 So.2d 885 (Fla. 3d DCA 2005).
  • Won a precedent-setting ruling that a creditor in a nondischarge action was obligated to pay the prevailing debtor's attorney’s fees. In re Martinez, 416 F.3d 1286 (11th Cir. 2005).
The firm has also filed friend of the court briefs in important cases. Miami-Dade County v. Omnipoint Holdings, 863 So. 2d 195 (Fla. 2003); City of Hollywood v. Mulligan, 934 So. 2d 1238 (Fla. 2006); Doe v. Evans, 814 So. 2d 370 (Fla. 2002).

The firm is currently representing the City of Coral Gables in its defense of an ordinance regulating the parking of trucks in residential neighborhoods.
